McDonald’s is getting BTS fans quaking with excitement after announcing that they are collaborating with K-pop phenomenon BTS for their upcoming exclusive menu.

On 19 April, the fast food chain posted a photo of their fries arranged to form a shape of the BTS logo on social media, and captioned it, “Coming this May: The BTS Meal”. It soon reveals that the BTS Meal will come to 50 participating countries; which also include Malaysia (26 May), Singapore (27 May), Philippines (18 June) and Indonesia (25 June).

The BTS Meal will include a nine-piece Chicken McNuggets, large World Famous Fries, a large drink, and exclusive sweet chilli and cajun dipping sauces inspired by popular recipes from McDonald’s in South Korea.

A spokesperson of BTS’ agency, Big Hit Entertainment, stated, “The band has great memories with McDonald’s. We’re excited about this collaboration and can’t wait to share the BTS Meal with the world.”

Fans of the group, known as ARMY, expressed elation over the news, with many beginning to plan for their McDonald’s visit, saying that they will buy everything on the menu as soon as it comes out.

The list of countries participating has also started another drama among fans who are saddened over the lack of participation from their own countries

Meanwhile, other fans from countries like the UK, Ireland, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia couldn’t help but express frustration over news that their countries will not be involved in the promotion.

One Egyptian ARMY wrote, “Sorry, but if you don’t put Egypt, I will not eat from McDonald’s again.”

On the other hand, there are also other McDonald’s long-time customers and non-BTS fans who are not amused by all this, summarised perfectly by one netizen who commented, “How long will this last? I am planning to go to Burger King during the collaboration.”
