Good news to all you movie lovers! After months of movie theatres and other recreational facilities shutting down due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases, it has been revealed that cinemas will be opened again soon.
The news was confirmed by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS) in its official statement released Tuesday 2 March, which stated that both filming activities and cinema operations are now allowed in areas where Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) and Recovery Movement Control Order (RMCO) are currently being imposed – beginning 5 March.
Nonetheless, these operations will still have to abide by the guidelines set by the National Security Council (MKN) including the implementations of health screenings, social distancing, and disinfection.
