Donnie Yen assembles stunt team (virtually) for viral fight challenge!, celeb, challenge, donnie yen, movie, news, theHive.Asia
Challenges of varying difficulty levels have been popping up online recently, cooked up by the social media savvy as a way to fend off their boredom during the months-long lockdown caused by the global pandemic.

One of the more difficult challenges to pull off is the fight video challenge, which went viral earlier this month and involves action-packed stunts.

For a martial arts star like Donnie Yen though, that’s barely a challenge.
The actor recently gathered his stunt team to do the challenge, much to the delight of his fans. Singaporean stuntman Yan Hua was among those featured in the video, along with others who largely hail from China and Japan. (Mad props to the stuntman who rolled down the stairs!)
As seen below, the video starts off with the “Ip Man” star training with a kung fu wooden dummy before he “kicks” the screen and it transitions to Yan Hua, who then continued the “fight chain” also with a kick. The stunts then get progressively tougher with each transition.
“I’ve been an action director for over 30 years and blessed to have my dedicated, loyal and hard working stunt team with me for so many [years],” Donnie Yen captioned the video he posted on his Facebook.
“Our team (long and short term, worldwide) has probably reached over 100 action brothers and sisters. (Unfortunately couldn’t have everyone in our video) So proud to see many of them becoming world renowned action directors and top stunt action heroes behind the scenes. These guys don’t get enough credit.”
The fight video challenge originated from the “Boss B**** Fight Challenge”, which featured the likes of stuntwoman Zoe Bell and Hollywood stars Cameron Diaz, Zoe Saldana, Scarlett Johansson and Halle Berry. It was initiated by Bell herself, whose long list of Hollywood credits include stunt work in “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” and “Thor: Ragnarok”.
