Getting your body back to how it was before giving birth to a baby is no easy feat, and this is a struggle for many mothers, including a star like Janet Hsieh.
The TV personality, who gave birth to son Egan last month, shared recently that she has yet to successfully gain her pre-baby body a month after her son was born.
“Of course, I would be lying if I said I was completely OK with how my body looks now. Currently, my first goal is to try and fit into my old pair of jeans again. Not these mommy jeans that I’ve been wearing for the past 10 months,” she said.
As of now, Janet admitted that she is able to squeeze into her normal jeans again, except that she now has what she calls “a huge muffin top that spills over the sides”.
She also spoke about diastasis recti – a condition in which there is a widening of the gap between the 2 sections of the Rectus Abdominis (or 6 pack) abdominal muscle, and what she has been doing in order to help speed up the process to get the abs back to normal.
“I tried binding for the first time a couple days ago – it literally feels like your organs and stomach muscles are being squished back into place and held together from the outside,” wrote Janet.
She added that while the binding makes it hard for her to move around, it is making her feel good.
“I sometimes like to remind myself that that loose piece of skin around your belly that you hate so much was your baby’s first home, so maybe we can take a little bit of time saying goodbye to it, but not too much time,” she added.
Janet also encourages other mothers to not give up on themselves and try their best to have a healthy body.
