Fan Bingbing has been named the star with the biggest income by the mainland media, which recently released its 2017 Chinese Celebrity Income Ranking List.
As reported on Mingpao, the said ranking was determined through celebrities’ earnings in business, movies, television series, albums, concerts, advertising endorsement and additional income for the year 2016.
At number one is “I am Not Madame Bovary” star Fan Bingbing, whose movie earnings and endorsements brought in RMB 240 million (approx. USD 34.8 million).
The second place goes to former EXO member, Luhan with RMB 181.6 million (USD 26.35 million). Despite his previous legal woes against former label, SM Entertainment, Luhan still made a name for himself, starring in three movies last year including the Sino-Hollywood project, “The Great Wall”, and participating in various variety shows. His first television drama, “Fighter of the Destiny” has also been getting a good reception.
The third places goes to Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou, who is currently on his latest world tour. Adding to the success of his latest album, “Jay Chou’s Bedtime Stories” and his Hollywood comeback, “Now You See Me 2”, the singer earned RMB 181.5 million (USD 26.33 million).
