Fan Bingbing has been named one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People, making her the only Chinese showbiz celebrity on the list.
The actress, who was named in the ICON section of the list, was previously one of the 114 people nominated this year.
In a short article written by fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg, she stated that Fan’s innate sense of style has made her the top pick for global brands.
“The first thing I noticed when I met Fan Bingbing was her inner strength, which was exuded so effortlessly it was difficult to take my eyes off her,” wrote von Furstenberg.
She continued singing praises for Fan, complimenting the actress for being a formidable businesswoman, and admiring her philanthropy work through the establishment of Heart Ali.
“Her fierce independence has earned her the nickname Fan Ye, or Master Fan. She is the woman she wants to be. Her wish, as they say, is our command,” Von Furstenberg added.
Other picks for this year’s list include the Democrat Senator, Elizabeth Warren, “La La Land” star Emma Stone, comedy writer-turned-Actor Donald Glover, and Donald Trump.
