Working solely as an actress is no longer satisfying enough for Hong Kong star Carina Lau, who revealed her plans to open up her own film studio soon.
According to Oriental Daily, the actress, who appeared at a restaurant launch in Central recently, shared that the Hong Kong film industry is lagging behind, which is why she has to help along to ensure it will continue to grow.
“Aside from that, I have experienced a lot of things in the first half of my life. I hope to use my life as a blueprint to make inspiring movies about women,” she said.
Carina also jokingly added that she will use her husband’s service to her own liking.
“I will have plans for him and he will not be able to turn down my offers! As for salary, there will neither be an increase or a reduction, but he will probably get a bonus,” she said light-heartedly.
As to whether she will work with her husband’s constant collaborator, Wong Kar Wai, Carina said that she has such a plan, although jokingly added that she will make sure that the production will not run over budget.
