After bagging the country’s first gold medal in the Dodgeball World Championships last weekend, the Malaysian women dodgeball team is now ranked first worldwide!

“As of 2016, Malaysian female are ranked #1 in the world after defeating team Canada in the gold medal match 6-5 at the recent World Dodgeball Federation (WDBF) 5th World Dodgeball Championships held in Melbourne, Australia,” The Malaysia Association of Dodgeball (MAD) told Malay Mail online in a statement.

Meanwhile, the Malaysia men’s team has secured the second spot worldwide after winning silver at the same championships.

This year was Malaysia’s best performance ever in dodgeball championships history, surpassing last year’s record of silver and bronze for the men’s and women’s team, respectively.

Also, according to MAD, the world rankings of dodgeball are determined through the annual Dodgeball World Championships’ results.
