Mainland actress Lin Yun has been happily sharing photos of her time spent with her parents, an activity that is now scarce since her rose to fame as Stephen Chow’s new Sing Girl.
From the US to Japan, sharing ice cream and falling asleep with her dad in the car, the “The Mermaid” star seemed to have really enjoyed her recent travels.
But it was a photo with Stephen Chow that attracted the most attention.
The photo, which was uploaded on 19 September, shows Lin Yun giving a happy cat pose at the back, while her parents sat next to the comedy auteur. The photo alone received more than 30,000 likes from fans.
Lin, the latest of many actresses who found fame after being introduced by Stephen, has always been grateful for the filmmaker’s decision to cast her in “The Mermaid”.
Back in July, when she attended the New York Asian Film Festival to accept the Rising Star Award, Lin thanked Stephen and called him her mentor, saying, “He opened the door for me and taught me how to perform.”
Nonetheless Lin admitted that she never really quite understand the reason she was picked by Stephen out of the 120,000 applicants who auditioned for the role in “The Mermaid”.
When asked about it, Lin only said, “He is just happy that I had no plastic surgery.”
