Ang Lee’s upcoming 3D movie, “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk” has been listed as one of the most anticipated new films of the 2016-17 Oscar season.

As reported on Focus Taiwan, the list which was published by Variety magazine, stated that the 4k resolution and 120 frames per second treatment will be one of the main attractions of the movie, aside from the Taiwanese director’s excellent story-telling.


“Whether he ultimately pulls it off or not, it’s always exciting to see what a genius is up to,” the article read.

In addition to Ang Lee’s adaptation, other movies that are highly anticipated include Martin Scorsese’s “Silence” – an adaptation of the late Japanese writer, Shusaku Endo’s 1966 novel of the same name that was filmed in Taiwan; Donnie Yen-starrer, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”; and Disney’s first Polynesian princess, “Moana”.
