Although Donnie Yen admitted it has been quite a while since he spent time with his children, he has no plans to turn down overseas jobs to stay in Hong Kong for them.
As reported on On CC News, the actor, who has been working on one Hollywood movie after another since concluding “Ip Man 3”, stated that his decision to do these films have nothing to do with money.
“I took those jobs because they were a rare opportunity for me. I did “Rogue One” because my kids are a big fan of “Star Wars”. I also did “xXx” because I was interested in the role given to me. It wasn’t the kind of role many Chinese actors would do, so I felt quite proud to be able to do it,” he said.
Nonetheless, Donnie said that he does miss his children Jasmine and James, after being away from them for the last nine months.
When asked if he will be in Hong Kong to celebrate Father’s Day with his children, Donnie responded in the negative, saying, “My wife and I will be going to Japan for a project, and then I will fly all over the place for work. I will also be flying off to London again soon for an additional photography for “Rogue One”.”
