It won various Hong Kong and international recognition previously, so it was no surprise that Philip Yung’s “Port of Call” became the biggest winner at the 2016 Hong Kong Film Awards.

As reported on HK Channel, the movie bagged seven awards, including Best Actor for Aaron Kwok, Best Actress for newcomer Jessie Li, Best Screenplay for Philip Yung, and Best Supporting Actress for Elaine Jin.

One of its stars, Michael Ning, also brought home two awards – Best Supporting Actor and Best New Performer.
Meanwhile, the Best Director accolade was awarded to Tsui Hark for his 3D action, “The Taking of Tiger Mountain”, while Hou Hsiao-hsien’s “The Assassin” won the award for Best Film from Mainland/Taiwan.
