It was revealed recently that China’s top regulator has decided to proceed with the restriction of child stars from appearing in reality shows.

As reported on Tencent Entertainment, the new guidelines issued by the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film, and Television recently revealed that children are prohibited from being highlighted in entertainment interviews, reports, and other shows.

It was also reported that several broadcasters involved in such programmes have already made adjustments accordingly.
Shows like “Where Are We Going, Dad?” and “Dad is Back” reportedly has stopped its production and broadcast following the notice.
Rumours of a possible ban were first heard in July, when it was reported that the top regulator wanted to strengthen the protection of minors and minimise their involvement in showbiz.
