Hong Kong singer-actor Pakho Chau and Korean actress Clara Lee have recently been honoured as this year’s Rising Stars of Asia by the Asian Film Awards Academy.
As reported on Mingpao News, the two stars accepted the awards at the star-studded welcome dinner held at the Conrad Macau, Cotai Central, as part of the Hearts On Fire-AFA Special Awards, which honours recipients with outstanding achievements as icons in the Asian film industry.
Pakho Chau, who was applauded last year for his role as the cold-blooded killer Elephant Man in the movie, “Guilty”, stated that he was very happy to receive the award, which is also his first accolade as an actor.
“In the past, I worked very hard, and always remind myself to constantly learn, reflect, and improve, because the opportunity will be given only to those who are prepared. So I seized every role, and try to do my best in every character that was given to me,” he said.
Pakho also expressed hopes that he can set an example to young people in a sense that he brings more positive energy in his work.
Meanwhile, Clara thanked her fans and her team that has helped her along the way, and promised to continue to do her best.
