Calling all otakus in Malaysia! One of the biggest and most popular anime conventions in Asia is returning to Malaysia for the fifth time this year!
On 26 and 27 March, Animax Carnival Malaysia 2016 will be back at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre once again, featuring tons of anime-themed games and activities with lots of prizes to be won.
Not only that, like every year, the highly-anticipated event will bring over some of the top Japanese singers from the anime industry – get ready to meet pop duo angela, Defstar Records’ music unit GARNiDELiA, and Kansai singer yanaginagi at Animax Carnival Malaysia 2016!
Consisting of members Atsuko and Katsu, angela plays a combination of genres like electronica, dance, rock, swing jazz and ska in their music. Their songs are used in plenty of famous animes, including “Soukyuu no Fafner”, “Shikabane Hime”, “Asura Cryin’”, “Seitokai Yakuindomo” and “K”.
Meanwhile, GARNiDELiA is made up of vocalist Maria (real name, Mai Mizuhashi) and producer Toku (real name, Yoshinoli Abe), who is most known for singing the theme song of 2013 shounen anime, “Kill la Kill”. Their second single serves as the second opening theme of another popular anime, “Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei”.
Lastly, Nagi Yanagi, stylised as yanaginagi, is probably the main highlight of the performing event as she is also known for providing theme songs for various popular anime series including “Ano Natsu de Matteru”, “Bakemonogatari”, “Arslan Senki”, “Nagi no Asukara”, “Naruto: Shippuuden”, “Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru” and many more.
Aside from the performances by the guest artistes, Animax Carival will not be complete without the annual cosplay competition which will see many cosplayers dressing up as famous characters from popular anime, manga and games.
The participants of the competition will stand a chance to win prizes worth USD1,800, which is over RM7,500!
Also, admission to the event is FREE!
