According to Oriental Daily News, the organiser revealed the news recently, saying that “Fist of Fury”, “Return of the Dragon”, “The Game of Death” and “The Big Boss” have undergone 4K digital technology restoration, and can be enjoyed by many with much more clarity.
It was reported that the Hong Kong International Film Festival (HKIFF) will be screening Bruce Lee’s digitally-restored classic movies.
This restoration, the organiser said, will help viewers understand Bruce’s martial arts philosophy of ‘knowing the hero, respecting the hero’ even better.
In addition to Bruce Lee’s movies, other digitally-restored films that can be enjoyed at the festival include David Lean’s “Doctor Zhivago” (1965), Martin Scorsese’s “Goodfellas” (1990), and Hou Hsiao-hsien’s “The Boys from Fengkuei” (1983).
The 40th Hong Kong International Film Festival will be running from this 21 March to 4 April.
