Malaysian singer and actress Kilafairy will be singing the Malay version of “Dilwale’s” official soundtrack, “Gerua” along with Singaporean singer Aliff Aziz as both of them have been hand-picked by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan himself to sing the song.
The Malay version of the song is titled “Warna Cinta” and is already available on the market.
According to New Straits Times, Sony Music India emailed and asked for a list of potential singers from Sony Music Malaysia for unknown reason. After sending them the list, Sony Music Malaysia received a reply requesting for Kilafairy and Aliff Aziz to do a duet.
Then only did they realise that it was for the Bollywood hit film “Dilwale”, starring everyone’s favourite on-screen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol.
“Little did we know that it was for “Dilwale”. What is also interesting is that, aside from Sony Music India, Shah Rukh himself took a listen to all the links that were sent to him. The decision was also made by Shah Rukh himself! Just knowing that he had listened and watched our YouTube videos is just overwhelming,” Kilafairy said who is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan.
“I grew up watching Shah Rukh’s movies and I often tell my mum that someday I would want to meet him. To be involved in his project is a great start!” she added.
