Kanye West apparently wanted to produce a tribute album for
the late David Bowie as he wishes to continue the legend’s legacy.
According to Mirror, the
rapper has been working hard in the studio adding his own spin to Bowie’s
classic hits like “Charges”, “Heroes” and “Rebel,
Rebel”.

The Daily Star reports
that the 38-year-old wants to pay tribute
by recording a mix of straight cover versions, including some of his own
influence as Kanye sees himself as a successor to Bowie in terms of musical
innovation.
A source mentioned, “Some are straightforward cover
versions with Kanye actually singing. On others he is rapping with his own
lyrics over Bowie’s music.”
However TMZ reported that the “Yeezus” rapper has
no plans to record a cover album after a rep confirmed so.

Many David Bowie fans were angered by the news whereby a petition was launched
to shut down the production of the album.

Kanye was a huge fan of the late star but sources claim that
the two never had plans to collaborate.
The father of two is working hard on an album, but it is of
his own material.
