So when the actress was seen with neither Tony nor boyfriend Edwin Siu at the TVB Star Awards Malaysia last weekend, it was rumoured that the two stars are actually avoiding each other.
He previously caused a stir through his comments about his relationship with good friend Priscilla Wong after walking together on the red carpet of the StarHub TVB Awards in Singapore last month.
However, according to Mingpao News, this wasn’t the case at all.
Tony, who attended the promotional event of his new series “Angel in the Making” on 30 December, stated that he was unable to attend the event in Malaysia because he has lost his passport.
“I’ve looked around the house for twelve hours but couldn’t find it. I think I had accidentally thrown it away along with the garbage out of the house,” he said.
Tony said that it was frustrating for him, since he wasn’t able to celebrate with his “Captain of Destiny” cast members on stage when the drama wins Best Drama that night.
“But I have already applied for a replacement. I have to leave Hong Kong in another three weeks for work, and I can’t go without a passport,” he said.
However, Tony admitted that both he and Priscilla, as well as the company, have decided not to attend such an event together again as not to set off another controversy.
