UPDATED 17 December 2015: Madonna’s upcoming show in Singapore might not be happening after all as the Icon team from Madonna’s official website has sent an email to its fans saying that the information of the concert details on the website was “inaccurate” and will provide refund for those who had already purchase an Icon Live Pass for the Singapore’s concert.
Ticket sales for the concert supposedly start today, but the singer’s tour date in Singapore has been removed from her official website, according to Channel News Asia.
For now, it is not known if the concert will still be taking place as the permit to stage Madonna’s concert has been applied, but it is still being assessed by the Singapore police.
“Once Madonna’s Singapore concert details are finalised, all members will be sent an announcement with the proper on-sale schedule information,” said a spokesperson from madonna.com.
Multi award-winning sensational singing legend Madonna who has sold millions of records worldwide, has reportedly included Singapore as part of her “Rebel Heart” Asia Tour 2016.
The “Rebel Heart” tour is Madonna’s tenth worldwide concert tour, in support of her thirteenth studio album, “Rebel Heart”.
Having sold more than 300 million records globally, Madonna is recognised as the best-selling female recording artiste of all time by the Guinness World Records.
She is the top touring female artiste of all time according to Billboard. She was also listed as the second best-selling female artiste in the United States by RIAA, one of the five founding members of the U.K. Music Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in her first year of eligibility.
Apart from Singapore, Madonna’s upcoming Asia tour will also include Taipei, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Macau and Manila.
Taking place at Singapore’s National Stadium, the concert will be held on 28 February 2015 to wrap up her Asian tour before heading to Australia.
Madonna was previously banned from bringing her controversial Girlie Show World Tour to Singapore in 1993, thus, this will be Madonna’s first ever concert in Singapore.
For now, it is not known when the tickets will be on-sale as local promoter IMC Live is still confirming details with the National Stadium.
However, it is learned that tickets will be priced between SGD108 to SGD1,288.
