It was a good start for the highly-anticipated drama, “Lord of Shanghai”, which pulled in an average viewership rating of 26 points peaking at 27 (with more than 1.7 million viewers).

As reported on On CC News, the drama, which stars movie actor Anthony Wong, Kent Tong, and Wayne Lai, revolves around three Shanghai tycoons during the 1930s.

Producer Amy Wong stated that she is proud of the series and believes that the ratings will continue to rise.
“It is my best production to date,” said the producer.
As for Anthony’s weird dialect, Amy laughed and said that none of the actors can speak Shanghai dialect, so Anthony decided to deliberately use a unique way of talking.
Another anniversary drama, “With or Without You”, starring Bobby Au Yeung and Joey Meng, pulled in an average viewership of 25 points peaking at 26.
