Infamous Malaysian blogger Alvin Tan had just released his first autobiographical book, “Sex, Pork, and Persecution – How One Young Man’s Fight against Conformity Led to Imprisonment and Vilification”, sold at the independent bookstore, Silverfish – but as of yesterday, the bookstore had decided to halt the sale of Alvin’s seditious books due to the blogger’s insensitive remarks on Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s daughter, Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid.
After Nurulhidayah’s recent comments on the Bersih 4.0 rally which has been making rounds on the Internet, the controversial blogger posted a rude and vulgar update on his Facebook, threatening to assault the DPM’s daughter.
Silverfish, who was one of the only two bookstores to store Alvin’s book – decided to remove the book after discovering the vulgar post.
On the other hand, after finding out that Silverfish is dropping his book, Alvin expressed his anger and disappointment on his Facebook in another vulgar post, where he asked his followers to boycott the bookstore.
Another independent bookstore that is selling Alvin’s “Sex, Pork, and Persecution” is Gerak Budaya, but according to the bookstore’s official online website, the book is now sold-out.
Gerak Budaya is selling my book, “Sex, Pork, and Persecution” at only RM23.96 (20% discount)! Grab while stock lasts http://t.co/0brNY7BbhO
