Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou has decided to sue a Beijing hotel for illegal use of his wedding photo for advertisement.

As reported on Now News, the singer is seeking a compensation of NTD5.5 million (approximately USD168,903) from the hotel, located in Beijing’s Tongzhou, after it put up a blown-up photo of his wedding on its building exterior to promote their wedding banquet services.

In addition to the hefty compensation, Jay has also demanded for the photo to be taken down and for the hotel to make a public apology for using their photo without authorisation.
Jay’s label, JVR Music, confirmed the news, saying that the singer and wife, Hannah, will be donating the amount of compensation to charity if they win the case.
