Hong Kong actor Andy Lau has recently been honoured with the Best Actor prize at the recently concluded Silk Road Film Festival.

According to Mingpao News, the actor, who accepted the award at the event for his role in “Saving Mr. Wu”, expressed his happiness with the recognition given by the festival, which came a day before his 54th birthday.

“My greatest birthday wish this year is for the movie to break box office over RMB500 million!” said the actor.
In “Saving Mr. Wu”, Andy plays the titular character, a man abducted and cruelly tortured by his abductors.
Director Ding Sheng was full of praises for the actor’s performance in the movie, calling Andy a “square metre winner”, since he spent the entire film chained in less than a square metre of space.
The movie is set to be released on 1 October in Singapore and Malaysia.
