American rock star Jon Bon Jovi has wooed the Chinese crowd by releasing a video of him singing the popular romantic song, “The Moon Represents My Heart”.

According to CRI News, the singer, who will be holding the mainland China leg of his Asian tour in September, released the music video on 19 August, a day before the Qixi festival, or Chinese Valentine’s Day.

In it, the singer can be seen recording the song in the studio and practicing the song in front of his studio crew, replacing the usually soft sound with his trademark husky voice and guitar strum.
“Jon put a lot of thought on choosing the right song for his Chinese fans,” reads a statement that was published with the video on his website.
The soulful ballad was first sung by Chen Fen Lan but was made famous by the late Teresa Teng in the late ‘70s. It has been covered by various artistes and is one of the most popular songs in karaoke.
Bon Jovi’s Asian tour will be traveling to Beijing, Shanghai, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Singapore.
