Although it was for her last tour, Singaporean-born singer-songwriter JJ Lin was still happy to be able to perform with the Queen of Taiwanese Music, Jody Chiang.

As reported on UDN News, the singer was recently invited to perform a duet of the song, “The Night of the Autumn Rain”, with Jody at her farewell concert held at the Taipei Arena, making it their very first cooperation.

Jody, who praised JJ’s singing, was told by the singer that his mother owned a KTV and loved her songs.
Touched by his words, Jody invited JJ’s mother, who was sitting in the audience, to sing the chorus along with them, while the camera focused on Mrs. Lin, and showed her face on the big screen.
“I hope that we will continue to have the opportunity to work together. On behalf of the fans, I would like to say that we want to continue to listen to your voice,” said JJ to Jody on stage.
To this she jokingly replied, “Then you’re in luck. I have 22 more shows after this.”
Jody’s farewell tour, which was originally planned to end in August, will continue until September.
Known as the Queen of Taiwanese Music, Jody Chiang began recording in the 1980s and has released 60 albums throughout her career. She has also won eight Golden Melody Awards during her time before she stopped competing for Best Taiwanese Singer in 2003.
