Taiwanese multi-hyphenate Jay Chou will be joining the jury panel for the latest season of “The Voice of China”.

According to China Times, in an announcement made by the show’s producers recently, it was revealed that the singer-songwriter will be joining other judges – songstress Na Ying, rock star Wang Feng, and Taiwanese singer Harlem Yu for the fourth season of the programme.

“I am a big fan of the show,” said Jay, at the press conference announcing the judges. “I have been keeping an eye on new talents for the longest time.”
When asked why Jay was invited as the judge in season four, the show’s General Manager, Wang Lei, stated that he was not invited because of his popularity per se, but also due to his standing in the music industry and his contribution to the arts.
Wang added that the show has been inviting Jay since the first season, but the cooperation did not come through due to his busy schedule.
The new season will premiere this 10 July.
