The new Light Rapid Transit Line 3 (LRT 3) which will connect Bandar Utama to Klang, is expected to be completed by 31 August 2020, with the construction of the LRT 3 beginning in the first quarter of 2016.
The 36-km rail line will have 25 stations, where 24 of them will be elevated stations while one of them will be an underground station. Furthermore, there will be a total of 5,000 parking bays located at 10 of the stations.
According to The Malaysian Insider, a public display to gather feedback is being held at selected locations from 15 May to 14 August 2015.
“The public is encouraged to take this opportunity to provide constructive feedback on the LRT 3,” said Prasarana’s managing director Azmi Abdul Aziz. “Their input is crucial for us to analyse and submit to the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) for their evaluation.”
According to Prasarana, the RM9 billion rail line is said to be the first rail project in Malaysia that uses green technology applications such as water retention, is energy efficient and has natural air flows.
Once completed, LRT 3 is expected to transport 70,000 passengers per day.
