Donnie Yen, who recently became one of the recipients of the Hong Kong Film Awards’ Best Action Choreography for his work in “Kung Fu Jungle”, has expressed his delight with the recognition.
According to Mingpao News, the actor, who was not able to attend the ceremony on 19 April as he was in Shanghai filming “Ip Man 3”, stated, “I want to thank the director, Teddy Chan, and the other choreographers Stephen Tung, Yuen Bun, and Yan Hua. I would also like to express my gratitude to the producer Emperor Motion Pictures, and especially my brothers at the Donnie Yen Stuntmen Association.”
“It would not be as exciting without their contribution,” he added.
Donnie also revealed that “Ip Man 3” still has two months’ worth of filming, including the highly anticipated scenes with Mike Tyson, which will take place in May.
“But now that Yuen Woo Ping is working as an action choreographer, I can just focus on acting,” he said.
Donnie added that he hopes the movie will give him the breakthrough that he very much needed in the business.
