“Overheard 3” actor Sean Lau has grabbed another Best Actor accolade ahead of the Hong Kong Film Awards, this time from the Hong Kong Directors’ Guild.

As reported on Mingpao News, the actor, who previously won similar award from the Hong Kong Film Critics Society, accepted his accolade at the presentation ceremony last night, which was held simultaneously with the Guild’s 25th Silver Anniversary Banquet.

Speaking to the media after the event, Sean stated that he originally thought about turning down the role when it was first offered to him, and is now grateful that he did not do so.
“I would have never guessed it would be this successful,” said Sean.
The actor also admitted that the award is special to him as it is the first time that the Guild has recognised his work.
As for whether it will boost his confidence about winning at the Hong Kong Film Awards, Sean light-heartedly replied, “I read a report that I have been nominated for Best Actor 14 times, so it means that I have been asked this 13 times before. It’s nothing special.”
