Jackie Chan admitted that he has thought about getting a divorce when his affair with Elaine Ng made headlines back in the late ‘90s, as reported on Wenweipo News.

In an autobiography written by good friend Zhu Mo, entitled, “Jackie Chan: Never Grew Up, Just Older”, the actor talked about his relationship with wife Joan and son Jaycee Chan, his scandal with the former Miss Asia, as well as his previous romance with the late singer Teresa Teng.

However, it was his affair with Elaine that attracted the most attention.
In it, Jackie stated, “I made a big mistake and I thought the only answer would be a divorce. It was a mistake that was impossible to fix.”
“The media exploded, and I had to call her [wife Joan Lin]. But I didn’t know what to say,” he added.
Jackie stated that he felt sorry for Joan, and thought about ending their marriage for her sake.
The actor also expressed his take on his showbiz life, saying, “There are times that I could not see myself. I can’t differentiate between my movie characters and my own self.”
“Jackie Chan: Never Grew Up, Just Older” reportedly has been in the works for the last three years.
Jackie, who was ecstatic with the release of the book, turned to Weibo and wrote, “I was born to do martial arts. Writing a book is unthinkable to me. But today, I was able to come out with my own book. I want to thank my friend Zhu Mo.”
“This book contains my feelings over the past few years. I am not a good speaker, and I was often misunderstood. But I think, rather than let someone else tells it, it is better if I do it on my own. I hope that the book will give the sense of the real me,” he added.
