Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be implemented starting tomorrow onward. To get the consumers ready, Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Ministry (KPDNKK) yesterday launched MyKira GST, an app which allows consumers to check the impact of GST on the prices of over 10,000 items, Bernama reports.
According to KPDNKK Minister Datuk Seri Hasan Malek, the app also allows dissatisfied consumers to file complaints directly to e-aduan.
“Consumers can check the prices of goods in three steps (via MyKira GST). All complaints filed via e-aduan will be promptly sent to the enforcement team.”
MyKira GST app can be downloaded from Google Play Store starting from now but will only be available from Apps Store in the first week of April.
Furthermore, Hasan also said that Anti-Profiteering Operation Centre (PGAP) will be handling the complaints by consumers. Immediate action will be taken on offenders under the Price Control Act and the Anti-Profiteering Act 2011.
“Complaints about weight and price tag can be acted upon immediately but for profiteering, it takes some time as we need to conduct investigation,” he added.
