Best FM (previously known as Best 101), a radio station based in Johor Bahru will now start its operation in Kuala Lumpur by early next year.
The CEO of Best FM, Yusri Abu Samah said that by opening a studio in the capital of Malaysia, the radio station will be able to expand its content in the future, mStar reports.
“Best FM currently operates in Johor Bahru. Our Kuala Lumpur studio will be located at Berjaya Times Square.”
“The opening of the studio will further diversify the content of the programme with local celebrities as well as the radio presenters,” said the CEO.
The latest addition of Best FM radio presenters include local singer, Haiza.
Yusri added that Best FM will maintain its station’s format by playing recent and modern hits as well as the popular songs of the 90s.
“Our target audience is from age 24 to 45 with a more cheerful, interactive and entertaining programme concept,” he said.
The new programme will start on 16 February 2015 in Johor and the segments are as follows:-
- Best Pagi, 6 – 10am (Haiza and Zairi)
- Best Café, 1 – 4pm (Helmi)
- Best Petang, 4 – 8pm (Azieqa, Azhar and Iqa)

Best FM is Malaysia’s first non-commercial private radio station and the first to be based outside of Kuala Lumpur.
The station used to broadcast in both English and Malay and at one time, it was one of the more popular bilingual stations. However, due to stiff competition with other English broadcasting stations, the station was forced to stop its English broadcast and focus on their Malay-speaking audience instead.
The frequency for Best FM is 104.1FM in Johor Bahru, Singapore, Riau Islands Province and Klang Valley, 94.8FM in Malacca and Negeri Sembilan, and 102.5FM in East Johor.
