We know that there are a number of new shopping malls will be opened in Klang Valley this year but let’s take a look at the recently opened shopping mall in Putrajaya, IOI City Mall which had only started its business in November of last year.
IOI City Mall, Putrajaya is the second shopping mall in Putrajaya with the first one being Alamanda Putrajaya shopping mall. The new mall offers all sorts of facilities and entertainment to its neighbouring residents around Putrajaya, Bangi, Serdang, Kajang, Cyberjaya and Puchong.
It is located roughly 35 kilometers south of Kuala Lumpur, next to SKVE (South Klang Valley Expressway) highway.
The mall consists of two office buildings and also a 5 star hotel. The RM1.5 billion worth development has a width of 33.5 acres with one of the largest parking lots in the Klang Valley which can fill in a total of 7,200 cars.
The four-storey mall houses 350 stores which including boutiques, department stores, arcades, pharmacies and more.
Some of its anchor tenants are; the famous Asia-based department store Parkson’s, Malaysia’s largest cinema chain and Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) which offers 2 Maxx halls that has screens larger than the conventional cinema screens.
Furthermore, there is also the supermarket Tesco, as well as the famous sporting goods retailer Sports Direct which is right next to Tesco.
Aside from the shopping attraction, IOI City Mall also features an ice-skating rink called Icescape Ice Rink and an amusement park named District 21.
The Icescape Ice Rink is the biggest ice-skating rink in Malaysia as it is as big as an Olympic ice-skating rink. It is located on the first floor of the mall. The rink can also be used for ice hockey sports.
For those who never skate or who wish to learn how to skate, Icescape Ice Rink is the place for you as it offers reasonably priced ice-skating learning packages.
Meanwhile, District 21 is said the only mall-based adventure theme park in Malaysia with a width 70,000 square feet. This theme park has a total of 11 attractions which include “wall climbing”, “roller glider”, “go pedal”, “pump track”, “low ropes”, “trampoline”, “the maze”, “free fall” (buggy jumping), “sky trail”, “tubby ride” and “carousel”.
These attractions will surely test your mental and physical endurance, and it is the perfect activity place for family and friends.
