Media Asia has recently announced a new historical anthology film consisting of eight famous directors.

According to Sina News, the project itself is historical in a way, combining the works of eight A-list filmmakers – Ann Hui, Johnnie To, John Woo, Tsui Hark, Yuen Woo Ping, Sammo Hung, Ringo Lam, and Patrick Tam to produce an anthology about the historical changes in Hong Kong.

Each director has already picked his or her own decade in Hong Kong history to present to the public, with Ann Hui (“The Golden Era”) currently filming her part of the project, which focuses on the rooftop school issue of the 1940s.
Meanwhile Johnnie To will be filming an action thriller involving the rapid development of the Hong Kong triads, starring Louis Koo and Wallace Chung.
