Semenyih’s popular hotspot, Broga Hill which is well known for its lush greeneries and serene landscape has now turned into a sombre setting for hikers that often go there.
According to Harian Metro, the hilltop area was wiped out by a forest fire last Monday. The Selangor Fire and Rescue department received the emergency call at about 4:44pm when the fire was already turning the bushes into ashes.
Assistant Director of Operations of Selangor Fire and Rescue department, Mohd Sani Harul mentioned that two teams were sent out immediately from the Semenyih and Kajang fire stations after receiving the call.
A total of eleven crew members were finally able to put out the flames late that night, after most of the vegetation had already been cleared off by the fire.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
