Chinese actress Zhang Ziyi recently revealed that Wong Kar Wai’s The Grandmaster” was her last action flick.

As reported on Tencent Entertainment News, the actress, who attended “The Grandmaster 3D” premiere on 11 January, said that the release of the 3D version marks her last martial arts and action film.

“I am turning 36, and I am afraid of getting more injuries,” said Zhang, who admitted that she would always give her all to every role she plays.
She added, “Moreover, I am a woman who wants to get married and have children in the future. I have to think about myself.”
When asked if she was prepared to bid farewell to her role as Gong Er in “The Grandmaster”, which has enabled her to win 12 Best Actress accolades since its release, Zhang said, “I have said goodbye on the last day at the studio. I took off my costume, wiped away my lipstick, and left.”
“You can’t live in a role forever because the next role is waiting for you. I have already worked on [John Woo’s] “The Crossing” and I am currently working on another movie with Ge You.”
