Turning 49 on 8 December, Hong Kong actress Carina Lau recently celebrated her birthday bash in a rock star manner alongside various celebrity friends from the industry.
As reported on Mingpao News, on 7 December, the actress, with husband Tony Leung, held a multi-million dollars star-studded birthday party at the Grand Hyatt Hotel, which included A-list celebrities such as Rosamund Kwan, Zhao Wei, Cherie Chung, Miriam Yeung, Eric Tsang, Chen Kaige, and Kenny Bee.
The actress was seen arriving at the hotel at 6pm, followed by husband Tony 45 minutes later. Other guests began to arrive later on and were given the VIP reception.
Among the many stars who graced the event, the most anticipated guest, Faye Wong, whose romance with Nicholas Tse has been the talk of the town for the past few months, arrived alone instead and only smiled when asked about the whereabouts of her boyfriend.
Carina, who looked stunning in a low-cut red dress for the cake-cutting event, was also successful in attracting attention during her arrival, when she appeared wearing a black and white dress believed to be the same one she wore to an award show back in 1995.
In her welcome speech during the bash, Carina thanked friends and the media for supporting her throughout the years, and added, “I hope to use this 49 years of experience to strive for a better future.”
Meanwhile, French art performer Franck Bouroullec presented the actress with a portrait of herself at the age of 12, which Carina revealed to have been her favourite photo.
