Dolores O’ Riordan, the lead singer of the popular 90s Irish band, The Cranberries, was arrested for allegedly assaulting a female flight attendant and an Irish police officer today on Aer Lingus flight EI 110 from New York, The Independent reports.
The Cranberries singer was reported to have allegedly stomped the flight attendant’s foot and then head-butted the police officer who tried to arrest her.
According to CNN, the 43-year-old singer was then removed from the plane at Shannon Airport in mid-West Ireland where she was later taken to a local hospital and has been discharged and released from custody.
It is learned that the female flight attendant suffered a suspected fracture in her foot and was taken to a hospital for medical treatment while the police officer did not require any treatment since his injuries are not serious.
After that Aer Lingus released a statement regarding the incident, “An incident took place on board flight EI 110 en route from New York to Shannon today, Monday 10th November. The matter is being investigated by An Garda Siochana. As this is a security matter we will not comment any further.”
This air rage incident sure goes well with the singer’s lyrics from her 1993 hits’ , “Linger”;
“I’m sure I’m not being rude, but it’s just your attitude, it’s tearing me apart, it’s running everything…,”
