It was recently revealed that Donnie Yen’s “Kung Fu Jungle” made a stunning record in Singapore, accumulating more than SGD 800,000 at the box office.

The movie, which topped the chart since its opening day on 31 October, successfully knocked out other competitors including Brad Pitt’s “Fury” and 3D animated movie, “The Book of Life”.

The movie also broke Donnie’s past four years record by having the highest weekend box office record, compared to his other recent movies, “The Iceman”, “Special ID”, and “The Lost Bladesman”.
Expressing his delight with the news, director Teddy Chan enthused, “Donnie’s character has attracted viewers to keep watching the movie. I hope that in future, martial arts film will head towards this direction, and not just fight for the sake of action.”
It is believed that the movie will be able to break SGD 2 million at the Singapore’s box office in a short amount of time.
