All hail Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali, for being the hero who saves 600 innocent lives of cats and dogs!
The eviction notice issued to PAWS (Paws Animal Welfare Society) on 10 November 2014, which requested the animal shelter to relocate has been suspended, Free Malaysia Today reports.
At a Selangor Islamic Affairs Department (JAIS) event yesterday, Azmin Ali met PAWS shelter manager Edward Lim, who was there to appeal for his case.

“We are very happy that YAB Azmin Ali is a very responsive MB and PAWS is confident that he will help to solve the matter amicably. The eviction notice has been suspended. We would like to thank Wani Muthiah for paving the way to meet up with YAB Azmin Ali,” posted PAWS on its Facebook page.
If the appeal had been unsuccessful, the 600 stray dogs and cats at PAWS might have needed to be euthanised.

PAWS previously received the 14-day eviction notice from the Petaling Jaya District Land Office with no specified reasons.
“It would take at least six months to a year to properly set up a new shelter, and that still depends on the money and resources we have,” said Lim.
PAWS also posted on Facebook their heartfelt gratitude to those who supported them;

Founded in 1987, PAWS was constructed on a patch of land owned by Sime Plantations on the Subang Airport Road and has been providing necessary service to the people and animals around Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya and Shah Alam.
