According to a report on HK Top Ten News, the actress, who attended the funeral in Ipoh on 9 November, may have to postpone her wedding with current FIA president and fiancé Jean Todt, though she has already begun preparing for the wedding.
Malaysian-born actress Tan Sri Michelle Yeoh reportedly will be postponing her wedding due to the death of her father, former MCA vice-president Datuk Yeoh Kian Teik.
When asked about Hokkien tradition – which stipulates that a wedding will have to take place within 100 days after a death in a family, or it will have to be held three years later, Michelle said that she was unsure about it. However, she will not rush her wedding because of it.
On the other hand, the obituary has listed Todt as a son-in-law, sparking rumours that the two are secretly married.
To this, Michelle clarified that her family saw Todt as a son-in-law due to the fact that they have been together for years.
“We will certainly not get married secretly,” she assured.
