As reported on Mingpao News, the actor, who attended the movie premiere alongside co-stars Charlene Choi and Wong You Nam recently, stated that the reports were false and was an act of sabotage.
Anthony Wong has recently denied rumours saying that his new movie, “Gangster Pay Day”, will be boycotted in mainland China due to a supposed anti-China sentiment.
“EEG and I have already decided to take legal action against the rumour mongers. One is from Hong Kong while the other one is from mainland China. Their Facebook and Weibo accounts have all been closed,” he said.
Anthony stressed that the company will take the perpetrators to court once they are found.
In regard to the comments that they published, which was allegedly made by him recently, Anthony said, “It was actually a comment about equal opportunity that I made two years ago, but the original statement was twisted by them.”
“The mainland authorities have already received a letter to prove that it was not my comment, and it’s clear that nobody has been banned,” he said.
