Chinese actor Wu Xiubo has recently been nominated for Best Actor at the International Emmy Awards.

As reported on ECNS, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences revealed the news on 14 October, saying that the 46-year-old actor will be competing for the award through his role in the hit based-on-true-story series, “The Orphan of Zhao”.

In the series, Wu plays the role of Cheng Ying, a man who rescues an orphan from the Zhao family and saves him from assassination.
However, Wu is not the first Chinese star who has earned such nomination. Last year, actress Betty Sun Li was nominated for Best Actress for her titular role in the hit TV series “The Legend of Zhen Huan”, though she did not end up winning the accolade.
The International Emmy Awards will be held in New York on 24 November.
