An explosion in front of the Sun Complex at Jalan Bukit Bintang has injured around fourteen people this morning.
According to The Star, the explosion occurred around 4.30am when one of two grenades that are believed to have been thrown at the location from the second floor of the Sun Complex exploded.
The explosion is believed to come from underneath a car that was parked in the area. The second grenade which did not explode, was found damaged under a Toyota Camry.
Based on News Strait Times, Criminal Investigation Department Deputy Chief Assistant, Commisioner Khairy Ahrasa told the reporters, “Police are still investigating the motive of this incident, and we are checking the background of the victims.”
The injured victims were sent to the nearby Kuala Lumpur Hospital and Tung Shing private hospital for medical attention.
Also, it has been reported that a car jockey was seriously injured and is being treated at Hospital Kuala Lumpur’s intensive care unit.
“The case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Firearms Act and the Penal Code,” said Khairy.
