Living in or visiting the big city isn’t complete without a rooftop experience. With so many skyscrapers filling our skies, it is only right that they come with great wine and dine spots that offer a breath-taking view of whichever big city we happen to be in. Here are our top 7 favourite spots:
1.Heli Lounge Bar (Malaysia)
Enjoy a stunning view of the KL tower while sipping on a Fizzy 747 cocktail.

Strategically located in the heart of the city, Heli Lounge Bar is a great chill out spot on the 34th floor of Menara KH. It offers a great dining experience but what makes it unique is the two flights of stairs above that lead to the helipad, which also doubles as a lounge by night with a 360 degree view of KL. This active helipad (operational only by day) is furnished with mismatched furniture where patrons can sip on drinks or tuck into meals accompanied by a picturesque view of the KL city. See the Petronas Twin Towers surrounded by city lights and whizzing cars while relaxing among the murmurs of conversations floating in the cool breeze. Definitely a must visit whether residing in KL or just passing through.

2.View Rooftop Bar (Malaysia)
The rooftop bar offers a perfect view of the Twin Towers.
The bar has an upscale yet laid-back feel to it.
Transforming the scenic skyline of Kuala Lumpur, View Rooftop Bar is where you go to experience deluxe wine, dine and party time. Great for romantic interludes and glam bam cocktail events, they offer great options for your occasion. Enjoy Absolut Mixology at the alfresco bar, premium single malt whiskies at the Glenlivet Lounge or luxe entertainment in the Mumm Champagne Room. Whatever your fancy, delight in it while soaking up the fantastic atmosphere and view and if you’re lucky, there may be some moonlight and stars in it for you too!

3.Stratosphere at The Roof (Malaysia)
Colourful lights give the bar a cheerful and contemporary look.
The grassed helipad bar provides a fresh take on the rooftop bar variety.
Another helipad turned bar, this baby is Asia’s first lawn rooftop champagne bar. Where opulence meets tastefulness, the Stratosphere is part of The Roof community that offers an amazing bird’s-eye-view of the great Kuala Lumpur. With delightful drinks and lip-smacking canapés to fill your belly, this affluent setting is the perfect spot for you, you and you. This green helipad bar is also the spot to hold gatherings, sophisticated events or well, to celebrate you.

4.Sky Bar (Thailand)
Sky Bar serves innovative cocktails that please both the sight and the taste senses.
Sip on one of the bar’s unique cocktails while enjoying the city’s view from high up in the sky.
Spectacular view, check. Innovative cocktails, check. Suave décor, check. Thailand’s much appraised rooftop Sky Bar is a must visit for anyone looking for the perfect place to drink and chill in Bangkok. The bar is the highest bar of its kind in the world. Definitely not for the acrophobic as it is suspended on a precipice 820 feet in the air, overlooking the city. However for those who can stomach such height, one of the must try items on the menu has to be any one of the bar’s special cocktails, especially Hangovertinis – Thailand’s signature drink after it was created for the cast of “The Hangover Part II” while they were filming at Lebua.

When it comes to Japan, what comes to mind will either be traditional or futuristic in terms of their designs. This bar leans toward the latter. Ruko Nana is elegantly decorated with pixel glass tables that house chandeliers inside, giving it quite a futuristic and luxurious look. It is quite a feat to locate, making it even more popular for bar-goers who prefer short wait for tables and drinks as there is seldom an influx of crowd in the bar. The lighting is toned down to let Tokyo’s light shine more, and this gives off a very calming atmosphere.
Address: Roku Nana, Verde Roppongi 3/F, 7-16-11 Roppongi, Minato-ku, Japan. I Phone: +81 (0) 3 6438 9915
6.KU DÉ TA (Singapore)
It offers an amazing view of Singapore’s skylines.
The infinity pool is perfect for lounging way up in the sky.
Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands Skypark boasts four different bars that offer different types of drinks and dishes for guests. But one of them is definitely the top pick when it comes to fine dining. Perched 200 meters on the integrated resort is KU DÉ TA, a restaurant serving Modern Asian cuisine. It spans 40,000 square feet, comprising of these separate yet integrated outlets: a restaurant offering world-class cuisine, a sky bar atop the SkyPark’s public observation deck, a club lounge which has a dance floor and a sky deck featuring an infinity pool. What makes KU DÉ TA truly special is it offers guests a 360 degree panoramic view of the famed city.
