If you have ever travelled outside the country in hunt for Japanese food, you’ve probably heard of the famous Japanese-Western fusion restaurant, Nobu. Well, guess what? Malaysia now has its very own Nobu restaurant in Kuala Lumpur that had just opened its doors on 25 September 2014.
Nobu is owned by Japanese chef Nobuyuki Matsushisa a.k.a. Nobu, a Japanese celebrity chef who is known for his fusion cuisine of mixing traditional Japanese dishes with Peruvian flavours and ingredients.
Nobu which is also co-owned by American actor Robert DeNiro, has been operating for over 20 years spawning a total of 28 branches all over the world, mostly in the United States. This means that the branch in Kuala Lumpur is the 29th branch of Nobu.

Based on the Malay Mail, the restaurant is located on the 56th floor of Petronas’ Tower 3. Customers can enjoy their cuisine as they appreciate the breathtaking views of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline.
Some of the restaurant’s specialties include their signature dish, the black cod miso as well as their other popular items; nobu tacos, toro tartar, yellowtail jalapeno, rock shrimp tempura and Peruvian-style sushi. The menu also includes standard Japanese cuisine such as sushi, sashimi, tempura, kushiyaki and more.

Mouth-watering desserts are also included in the menu. One of Nobu’s famous desserts is the bento box which features hot chocolate fondant together with white chocolate sauce and shiso syrup served with matcha ice-cream.
The Kuala Lumpur branch of Nobu will be lead by Malaysian chef, Philip Leong who used to work in the London branch of Nobu restaurant.
