From Mark Zuckerberg to Bill Gates, Justin Timberlake to Justin Bieber, many public figures from all walks of life have recently joined the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise funds for  Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) research.

The challenge has even come to this side of the globe, with celebrities such as actresses Yu Xuan and Michelle Ye, singer JJ Lin and director Ning Hao taking part, as reported on CRI News.

Back in Hong Kong, Andy Lau recently took the challenge and dared Jay Chou to do the same.
The challenge involves people dumping a bucket of ice water on themselves and posting a video of it on social media, challenging others to do the same. Those who refuse to take the challenge are asked to make a donation to the ALS charity, though many of those who have taken the challenge donated as well.
According to Mingpao News, the multi-hyphenate recently accepted the actor’s challenge, saying that even if he is splashed with ice water, he will still donate to the research, and challenged his lyricist partner Vincent Fang and the members of Mayday.
In related news, the ALS charity has received donations of over USD 10 million since the game started more than a week ago.
Also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, ALS, is a disease of the nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord that control voluntary muscle movement.
