Recently, CHI & Partners agency launched a campaign for Lexus’ new luxury car called “Amazing in Motion – Strobe”, but what’s really interesting about the campaign is that it featured an awesome one-minute video with the help of professional stuntsmen and engineers to create LED puppets moving about the city of Kuala Lumpur illuminating its impressive skyline.
According to Marketing Magazine, CHI creative director Monty Verdi says that the purpose of the campaign is to “open Lexus up to a new audience, illustrating not just the brilliant engineering and grace of its products, but also the adventurous, imaginative nature of the brand.”
The video captured the stuntsmen in various poses wearing custom-made LED suits, linked to a purpose-built computer system that controls each patterns and poses of the LED stuntsmen to create a series of illuminated figures moving in a stop-motion like state in Kuala Lumpur.
The short video was directed by Adam Berg from Stink Productions without the use of CGI and was shot over seven nights back in April.
The video was released on 2 July 2014 and after just a week, the video had garnered over 742,000 views.
