The much anticipated free concert of the month, Twin Towers @Live 2014 has been cancelled by its main sponsor, Petronas, in wake of the recent MH370 tragedy.
The two day concert was to be held on 28 and 29 March at the plaza of Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) with artistes; Rain, Christina Aguilera, Rick Astley, Lifehouse, Craig David and more slated to perform.
In a statement issued by Petronas this afternoon on the Twin Towers @Live official Facebook page, it explained that Petronas are pulling off the plug for the concert as a sign of respect for those affected by flight MH370.
Following the posting, there were several unhappy Netizens who had commented on the post with calls for the concert to carry on as a tribute show instead. Those who had traveled for the event had even requested for refunds for their flights and accommodation.
This is the second cancellation of a music event held in Kuala Lumpur this month. On 15th March 2014, the final day of the 3-day dance music festival, Future Music Festival Malaysia was cancelled by its organisers, Livescape Asia with advice from local authorities, after 6 persons were reported dead from consuming lethal drugs on the second day of the event.
